there's a note behind the portrait: being emo has never been a phase for them. it's a lifestyle. they built this cabin out of their comically tiny hands to escape the turmoil of real life. in here, they hope to settle down.

their name is a mystery, even to them. they are as ancient as the oldest jellyfishes. they come from a country that's too warm in summer and too cold in winter. if they have to pick, they prefer the cold; it's hard to dress for summer when all of their clothes are black. they can talk and write both in english and in french. they have some knowledge in japanese, but they are slowly forgetting it, just like they forgot latin and ancient greek.
